Avo Paistik was a charismatic caricaturist, painter, and animation director. He had a great hand in sketching and drawing caricatures, which caught the eye of a film director Rein Raamat, who asked him to work in Tallinfilm animation department. His greatest works are “Sunday” (1977, with Priit Pärn) and “Vacuum Cleaner” (1978, with Rein Tammik). He created a cult animation character, born from a drop of water, called Klaabu and directed the well-known family animation “Three Jolly Fellows” (1984). Avo described himself as the character from the “Three Jolly Fellows”: “By nature, I’m like Kingpool – on the one hand, I’m very happy or bullish, but at the same time, I can also get terribly angry. I can go from joy to tears in a minute.”. He was so talented that was even asked to work for Walt Disney Studios. Paistik refused the offering and decided to make a total turn on filmmaking, committing to work as pastor in the Church of Jesus Christ of Eternal Life.
