Hans Roosipuu was a film director and cinematographer. He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography. Roosipuu is well known as a sports filmmaker with over 30 sports films in his portfolio. Film “Searching for the Dunes” (1972), which tells the story about ski coach Herbert Abel, won a silver cup at the Cortina d’Amprezzo Sports Film Festival. In addition, Roosipuu has been a part of 75 feature films and over 500 newsreels. His works have been prized with Soviet Union Festival awards and with Lifetime Achievement Award.
