Juli Kun was a film operator and director. He is mostly known for his notable operator work in films “Mitšurini” (1948)  and “Captain of the First Rank” (1958). Film “Mitšurin” got a remarkable recognition of the color scheme used in the film and Kun with his co-operator won a Stalin prize for it. A sea themed drama “Captain of the First Rank” was his first work in Tallinn Kinostudio, which was also a Kinostudio first widescreen film. Kun had also done a co-director job for the comedy film classic of Estonia, called “Naughty Curves” (1959).
