After the Estonian War of Independence, the children, and young people of Arvo Kruusement’s previous films „The Spring” (1969) and „Summer” (1976) have grown to become good masters and mistresses of farms, influential members of society who have school aged children of their own. Only Kiir the tailor has not found a spouse for himself. One day in autumn, two eligible maids in their best marrying age arrive in Paunvere. The beginning of his courting and marriage is rather curving, and the film is full of humor, intrigues, but also good luck.
